Matthew 26:3-5

January 8, 2012 | 49:25

Within the NKJV version of this short piece of scripture, a powerful word stands out: “trickery”. The high priests and elders plotted to use “trickery” to get rid of Jesus. Have you ever “bent the truth”? Withheld information? Do you manipulate circumstances to make sure they go the way you want them to go rather than seeking God’s will and purpose? Trickery and deceit, performed by others or even ourselves, can have such a huge impact on our relationship with the Lord and it’s worth taking a moment to determine whose will we are seeking in this world.

New Year's Day

January 1, 2012 | 41:59

Every year on New Year’s Day, something special happens – we get a new calendar, we train ourselves to scribble a new number, but more importantly, we reflect on what happened the year before. From a worldly perspective, 2011 was a great year for some but a challenging year for many. Psalm 107 examines instances of troubling times for four groups of people - each set of troubles brought on by a different reason. Not exactly a “happy” new year if we stopped here, but it gets good when we witness the lovingkindness of the Lord. We’re living in a radical age and we all desperately need a relationship with Him. Listen to this teaching and discover how the people of Psalm 107 dealt with their trials. Finally, challenge yourself to look back on 2011 with a filter of righteousness and wisdom so that you too can exclaim the goodness of the Lord!

The Rules of Gifting

December 25, 2011 | 50:12

Christmas is always a wake-up call to ourselves as to how we handle giving and receiving things. Should I be gentle with the wrapping paper? Am I acting like I really like this thing? Are they going to find out that I re-gifted this? Is it really better to give than to receive? While we all have this time to exchange things amongst ourselves, let’s think about how God wants us to give and to receive the best gift that we’ll ever get. “The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (Romans 11:29) – listen to these “rules of gifting” and find out how to joyfully receive, enjoy, and share them.

Matthew 26:1-2

December 18, 2011 | 33:26

Throughout the book of Matthew we see Jesus constantly reminding his disciples that they are travelling to Jerusalem where He will be crucified, yet they didn’t understand and when that day came they were unprepared. Through His Word, Jesus reminds us that we will experience trials, yet WE don’t get it and are unprepared when it gets tough. These two verses from Matthew 26 are yet another reminder that God loves us and is so good to remind us of things we don’t get or we forget. Listen to this teaching, be encouraged, and learn of some practical actions we can take as believers to be prepared for whatever God has in store for us.
